Description
It is a quantitative indicator that shows ratio of patents grants registered by, at least, one member of HEI per FTE teaching staff.
Patents counted one time per registration, and one time regardless of the amount of offices regsitrated in.
For HEIs is easier to collect the amount of patents grants in European and/or North-American offices.
As far as the level of decision making is concerned, it is a tactical indicator and falls within Research scope.
